Giroud has Threatened to leave Chelsea

Olivier Giroud says sitting on the bench has left him frustrated at Chelsea
The France international's 18-month contract is set to expire next summer
Giroud also revealed he could be heading back to France to play regular football

Olivier Giroud has threatened to return home country next summer after limited playing time at Chelsea.
The center-forward who will be running out of contract at the end of the season has just featured once in 16 Premier League matches with Gonzalo Higuain the preferred choice to the Frenchman.
Giroud said: “Of course it is frustrating. Today, I feel like there is no competition since January. “It is like that, I know that I will only play in the Europa League and I will try to do everything I can to be as effective and decisive as possible for the team.

Giroud who signed a one and half year deal from Arsenal in 2018 was linked with a move to Marseille last year.

The 32-year-old last played in Ligue 1 with former side Montpellier in 2012 but any move could be complicated by a one-year transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

“The future could be hectic this summer,” he told French radio station RTL.

“I am not scared of going down a level to have more playing time. It could be that I end my career in France.”

He has scored 33 goals in 87 games for Les Bleus to become the fourth all-time highest scorer before facing Russia in a qualifier on Friday, March 22.

The former Gunners forward admits Euro 2020 is set to be his final major tournament wearing his national colours.

“It looks like the last goal with the French team,”

it was reported earlier that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has made it clear that he is tired of sitting on the bench at Stamford Bridge and could face the exit doors this summer if the situation does not improve.

Giroud has been forced to settle for a reserve role at the Blues this term under Maurizio Sarri, but has made the most of his chances in the Europa League.
