Moses, Mikel Lose Community Shield, Ujah Nets A Brace

The  between EPL Champions Chelsea and FA Cup Champions, Arsenal has come and gone, but the duo of John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses have been left reeling in disappointment.

Arsenal mid-fielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put the Gunners ahead midway into the first half and the classic solo-effort was enough for the Arsene Wenger side to take the prestigious trophy to the Emirates.
Although, Victor Moses was introduced about 10minutes to the end of the game, Mikel was completely left on the bench by Jose Mourinho.
Elsewhere, Super Eagles striker, Anthony Ujah netted twice as Werder Bremen defeated West Ham 2 – 1, in a pre-season friendly.
Kelechi Iheanacho also found the back of the net once, as his club Manchester City lost to Stuttgart 4 – 2.
New Eagles’ coach, Sunday Oliseh is expected to announce his invitations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in a few days

We need more female lawmakers – Aisha Buhari

Buhari Adamant On Cutting Cost Of Governance, Reducing Ministries And Agencies.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said his administration will still carry on with the cutting down of the cost of governance by reducing the number of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).

The president said this at meeting with the Nigerian community in Benin Republic.
Buhari, was in Benin Republic at the weekend on a one-day visit and to attend the country’s 55th independence anniversary.
The president while assuring that he would not take the interest of Nigerians for granted, including those living in the Diaspora when cutting down the number of MDAs said his administration would also consider the requests by many to setting up of consular offices where necessary to enable the embassies coordinate and respond to their urgent needs in an efficient manner.
On requests for two more consulates in Benin Republic to complement the Nigerian embassy, Buhari noted that even though the federal government was trying to cut down the number of MDAs, he would include their request in next year’s budget.
“I think I will direct your ambassador to make the request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that by the time we are doing the next budget, it would be included.
“Although we are trying to cut down on the number of ministries, the morale of Nigerians in Diaspora must be considered. This is because we are so many.
“We are aggressive whether in business or other facets of life. So, we as a government will do everything possible to look after Nigerians wherever they are.”
Buhari also promised to look into the request that the services of the National Open University (NOUN) should be extended to the Nigerian community in Benin.
He then urged the Ambassador to liaise with the Ministry of Education for the modalities of extending the services to those in Diaspora.
When asked what the government is doing to expedite their relocation home, Buhari advised the Nigerian community to rather stay where they were and not risk coming back home only to be redundant.
President Buhari’s commitment to cutting the cost of governance can not be out of place in the light of the recent nose diving of the global price of crude oil. Nigeria, an oil dependent country is currently facing financial hard times as the new administration has often decried the near-empty status of its treasury.

Six World-Famous Footballers Who Embraced Islam

There are lots of football players who have decided to convert to Islam during the early or later years of their lives. See list of six most famous footballers who chose to join one of the largest religions in the world. We also verified whether or not Robin van Persie and Thierry Henry are Muslims. Scroll down to the bonus material.
1. Emmanuel Adebayor

A Togolese footballer who plays for English club Tottenham Hotspur and the Togo national team  in a ceremony recorded and a video was posted to YouTube. Apparently, until recently Adebayor was a practising Christian. He used to post pictures of himself with a priest to Facebook with captions praising God. The footballer, however, hasn’t made any public announcements about his conversion.
2. Franck Ribery

Another French professional footballer, who is playing for German club Bayern Munich at the moment, converted to Islam in 2002 because of his wife, Wahiba Belhami, and added Muslim name Bilal. According to Ribery, religion is his privacy and he is feeling physically and mentally stronger since he preferred Islam.
3. Eric Abidal

Eric Adibal is a French retired professional footballer who had to stop playing because of health issues. In March 2011, he had been diagnosed with a tumour in his liver, and a year later he underwent a second operation – his liver was transplanted. Abidal has converted from Catholicism to Islam and changed his name to Bilal Eric Abidal right after his wedding in 2007. A former defender of FC Barcelona allegedly choose Islam because of his Algerian-born wife, Hayet Kebir.
4. Emeka Ezeugo

A former Nigerian football defender and midfielder who played in 1994 World Cup converted to Islam in February 2012. According to Ezeugo, he embraced Islam after being inspired by the life of Prophet Mohammad.
5. Nicolas Anelka

A French footballer who is now a player-manager of Mumbai City FC has converted to Islam when he was sixteen, however, he kept his religious beliefs private for a long time. He went though his formal conversion only in 2004, and adopted the Muslim name of Abdul-Salam Bilal.
6. Danny Blum

A German footballer made an announcement of his reversion to Islam in January 2015. Blum said in an interview he prays five times a day and eats halal food. He also described Islam as a religion of hope and strength.
Bonus:
Robin van Persie

A lot of people believe van Persie, a Dutch professional footballer who plays for Turkish club Fenerbahçe and is the captain of the Netherlands national team, is a Muslim. However, this is far from the truth. He is married to a Moroccan-Dutch wife, Bouchra van Persie, who has embraced Islam, BUT he has said “I am not a Muslim nor a Christian, nor Jew.”
Thierry Henry

Thierry Daniel Henry, a retired French professional footballer, who played for Monaco, Juventus, Barcelona, New York Red Bulls and spent eight years at Arsenal, is also believed to be a Muslim. However, this information is highly unconfirmed. There is only one indication that Henry supports Islam. In a video that, apparently, has not been translated into English by a reputable news source. According to the several existing translations, Henry says that he feels closer to Islam than any other religion, that he respects his Muslim friends, and that if he were to convert to a religion, it would be Islam.

Naira to rise further as banks reject dollars

Naira notes NAIRA

The United States dollar will further tumble against the naira at the parallel market this week as Deposit Money Banks continue to reject cash deposit of foreign currencies into customers’ domiciliary accounts.

The naira had appreciated against the dollar from 245 to 220 at the parallel market last week after banks started denying their customers opportunity to make cash deposits of dollar, pound and euro into their domiciliary accounts.
Foreign exchange dealers told our correspondent on Sunday that the naira would likely appreciate further against the dollar at the black market this week.
A forex trader, who chose to speak under the condition of anonymity said, “We expect the naira to appreciate further this week at the parallel market.
“Banks have flooded the market with dollars and other foreign currencies. This is making the naira to appreciate. There is still a huge stock of dollars out there that the banks will be pushing into the parallel market this week.”
The Acting President, Association of Bureau De Change Operators, Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, also noted that large amount of dollars in the market would make the naira to appreciate further at the parallel market this week.
Banks had last week told customers that they would no longer collect cash deposits into domiciliary accounts.
Fidelity Bank Plc, in an email to customers, said the policy came from the Central Bank of Nigeria and it was only a temporary measure to curb speculative activities.
Guaranty Trust Bank Plc also told customers about the development in an email statement.
“Banks no longer accept dollar cash due to large speculation on the currency,” the Chief Executive Officer, First City Monument Bank, Mr. Ladi Balogun, told a conference call last week
He said the lenders would continue to receive dollar transfers from other banks.
The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, had two weeks ago said the naira was “appropriately priced” at its current level of 197 to the dollar on the interbank market.
The local currency has lost around 15 per cent against the dollar over the past year, with an official devaluation in November and a de facto one in February.
The naira had weakened on the parallel market, falling as low as 245, on persistent dollar shortages after the central bank last month limited importers’ access to dollars in order to save the external reserves.
Early last month, the central bank fixed the spread at which bureaux de change operators could sell dollars to individuals, and also limited the amount that bank customers would spend using their debits cards abroad.
Although the restrictions have angered investors and frustrated companies that need dollars for imports, Emefiele has rejected the idea of loosening the curbs, saying the central bank could not adopt an “indeterminate policy” of currency depreciation.
Global ratings agency, Standards & Poor’s, had also said Nigeria would have to devalue its currency at some stage, possibly by more than 15 per cent, though it saw the adjustments as likely to be gradual.
FCMB’s Balogun had also noted that the parallel market was beginning to see a reversal in the naira’s weakness as banks stopped taking dollar deposits.

See 5 Ways Pre-marital Sex Can Destroy You

Proverbs 6 vs 32 – whosoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding, a wound and reproach shall he get all the days of his life. People now committing premarital sex and sexual immorality this days and they all see it as being morally okay.
PREMARITALSEX
But its so unfortunate that this so called enjoyment and okay lifestyles comes with a curse,
DELAYED MARRIAGE – especially to the ladies, when they reach 30 years and they are no suitor they will now move from one prayer houses to another seeking help and blaming their misfortune to their village and family people. This is a lamentation
ACADEMIC DECLINE – This is also another deadly effect of sexual immorality especially to those who were called by God. Majority of Students now are dropping out from the university, graduating with third class, and the undergraduates with low C.G.P.A, some write jamb for 6 years without admission when their mates are going higher. They fail to realize that God had cursed the disobedient who refused to keep his commandments to abstain from fornication. (1 Thessalonians 4 vs 3). What an anguish!
STAGNATION – here is another stigma of those whose life and future have been wrecked by adultery. You will be in the same low position for 10 years. Your business is not moving, your financial life is still in a moribund, your mates are buying land, and building houses and you’re still in that one room apartment as a tenant. Dude calm down, your life of sexual immorality has place you in such an awful condition.
DISAPPOINTMENTS IN BUSINESS – especially to those who normally patronizes prostitutes. every where you go and in all your endeavors you will be disappointed, you will be denied any form of help. Your business will be going down. why? Check yourself out
BARRENNESS– majority of divorce cases roots down to barrenness as the cause. Your husband (who is an unbeliever) will kick you out if you cant give him kids and bring another woman to your marital home. Dont worry, you used to commit abortions and commit sexual immorality with men who is up to be your grandfather.
SPIRITUAL DECLINE – you will be seeing yourself being chased by masquerades, and unclean animals in dream because your spirit is dead. Witches and wizards will be using you anyhow they like.
Proverbs 6 vs 26 – for by means of a whorish woman, a man is reduced to a piece of bread and the adulterers will hunt for his precious life.
Sexual immorality is a sin that destroys the future. Repent from it and turn to God and He will restore back all you have lost.

Nigeria beat Congo, Falcons crash

Coach of the U-23 team, Samson Siasia
The Nigeria U-23 team have qualified for the CAF African Championship on a 2-1 aggregate scoreline after forcing their Congolese counterparts to a goalless draw at the Stade Municipal du Pointe Noire on Sunday.
It was, however, a tale of lamentations for the Super Falcons who lost 2-1 to hosts Equatorial Guinea in Bata also on Sunday. The Falcons have thus crashed out in their race to be at the Olympics as Equatorial Guinea qualified on a 3-2 aggregate, courtesy of their 1-1 draw in the first leg fixture in Abuja two weeks ago.
The U-23 men, coached by Samson Siasia, have thus joined Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, Zambia, Tunisia and South Africa, with either Mali or Gabon, in the CAF tournament to be held in Dakar from November 28 to December 11. The top three teams at the tournament will represent Africa at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.
Nigeria had won the first leg fixture 2-1 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a fortnight ago as Junior Ajayi scored a brace, while Moise Nkounkou pulled one back for the visitors.
All they needed was the draw, which they got, but Usman Mohammed came close to putting Nigeria in the lead only for goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi to stop the goal-bound shot.
In Bata, Ngozi Okobi had put the Falcons ahead in the 12th minute, but they failed to hold on to the lead as the hosts fought back late in the second half to equalise. Both sides held on and were only separated in the extra time.
The hosts took advantage of a tiring Nigeria team to score their second goal in the second half of the extra time thus ending the Falcons’ dream of being at the Olympics.
Nigeria failed to feature in the football events of the 2012 London Olympics as the U-23 team and the Falcons were beaten by their Ghanaian counterparts.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Queens have also crashed out in the Olympic Games qualifiers after drawing 3-3 with Cameroon over two legs
The Lionesses put their preparation troubles behind to scrap their way through the final stage of the road to Rio 2016 by coming from behind twice to hold the Black Queens to a 2-2 draw in Accra on Saturday.
Ghana, boosted by the 1-1 first leg results in Yaoundé, opened the scoring through striker Samira Sulemana in the 16th minute but Cameroon soon equalised after poor defending by the Black Queens. Ngono Mani capitalised on the defensive mishap to level score.

See 13 Reasons Why Adebayor Dumped Christianity For Islam

    Image result for emmanuel Adebayor
1. Jesus (pbuh) taught that there is only One God and Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught in the Qur’an verse 4:171.
2. Jesus (pbuh) didn’t eat pork as taught in Leviticus 11:7 , and neither do Muslims as taught in the Qur’an verse 6:145.
3. Jesus (pbuh) greeted with the words “as salaamu alaikum” (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims also greet each other this way.
4. Jesus (pbuh) always said “God Willing” (inshallah), Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught in the Qur’an verses 18:23-24.
5. Jesus (pbuh) washed his face, hands, and feet before praying. The Muslims do the same.
6. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible prayed with their head to the ground (see Matthew26:39). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verse 3:43.
7. Jesus (pbuh) had a beard and wore a throbe. It is Sunnah for Muslim men to do the same.
8. Jesus (pbuh) followed the law and believed in all the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verses 3:84, and 2:285.
9. Jesus’ mother Maryam (pbut) dressed modestly by fully covering her body and wearing a headscarf (hijab) as found in 1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65, and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women modestly dress the same as taught in the Qur’an verse 33:59.
10. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible fasted up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6. 1Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1-Muslims do so also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Qur’an 2:183), and others take it a step further by fasting an additional 6 days to increase their rewards.
11. Jesus (pbuh) taught to say “Peace to this house” when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the people in the house with “peace be unto you”. Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught. When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say “Bismillah” and also greet with “as salaamu alaikum” (peace be upon you) as taught in the Qur’an verse 24:61.
12. Jesus (pbuh) was circumcised. Circumcision is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was circumcised. In the Torah, Allah/God stated to the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) that it is an “Everlasting covenant” (see Genesis 17:13). In the Qur’an verse 16:123 Muslims are required to follow the religion of Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said, “The Prophet Abraham circumcised himself when he was eighty years old.” (see Sahih hadith Bukhari, Muslim, and Ahmad).
13. Jesus (pbuh) spoke aramaic and called God”Elah”, which is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of Akkadian.
The Aramaic”Elah” and the Arabic “Allah” are the same.
