Woman’s Teeth Knocked Off By Her Baby Daddy In Lagos

This is really sad! Why should a man in his right senses pounce on his babymama and beat her mercilessly like this? Guys, any man who beats his woman is not alright. Stop it, if you are one of those who do.

     mad LOVE

Below are details of what happened between the man and this woman who has a child for him:
This is what I saw this morning.. Sigh* when will people learn that domestic violence doesn’t stop a thing?! That’s the man walking away from the camera, he knocked out two teeth from his baby mama because she refused to allow him see the child he supposedly doesn’t feed.
He is a driver named Dominic Akpan popularly called Archibong and she is Cecilia Etim (a domestic worker), both live in Ajah, Lagos. I don’t care what she did and trust me man, no one will ever pay attention to you again, not after what you have done to this lady… #SAYNOTODOMESTICVIOLENCE

Sule Lamido Smiling After Court Granted Him Bail In Abuja

EFCC+1  I told you guys that ex-Governor Sule Lamido and his sons would not be in that prison sell for two months as ordered by a court in Kano, and that is how the saga has played out within just few days.

A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday, granted him bail on self-recognition and also granted his two sons bail, who are all standing trial from alleged money laundering.
Lamido, his sons, Mustapha and Aminu, and one Abubakar Wada, were arraigned on a 24-count charge of laundering N1.35billion belonging to the State when he was governor.
They were initially arraigned by the EFCC before Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court, Kano, who remanded them in prison without hearing their application for bail. The application for bail was transferred to Abuja for determination.
Ruling on the matter, Justice Gabriel Kolawole ordered Lamido to surrender all his travelling documents to the court’s Deputy Chief Registrar.
He also granted bail to Mustapha and Aminu, and their alleged accomplice, Wada, each in the sum of N25m and two sureties.
– in Nigeria once a political “criminal” is granted bail, the case will most likely die one way or the other.

10 Silly Nigerian Beliefs You’ve Heard

There are some certain times in life where all you do is listen and believe people’s talks and suggestions buh as you grow older you tend to laugh it
off and make a fool of yourself for believing those tales.
Sitting down reminiscing, you wonder how you never thought twice
about those talks which I refer to as beliefs or superstitions.
Don’t let me bore you any longer, let the party begin, these are the 10 beliefs I can pen down.
ALL STUDENT WITH GLASSES ARE NERDS : I remembered
during secondary school days whereby we are always “scared” of student with recommended glasses, we tend to believe that all students with
glasses are 9ja Albert Einstein, dunno maybe it’s the way they all behave or the way the glasses are being made. Awon eyan Harry Porter..
ALL HAIRY WOMEN ARE WICKED: I’ve always wondered how I
came about this belief, how does being hairy makes one wicked, is there a particular gene that triggers the wickedness or is “Mama G” Patience
Ozokwor also hairy grin grin grin
COCONUT WATER/JUICE DULLS THE BRAIN: I once saw the ingredients mixed together for intelligence vaccine and coconut water
was also listed, how come that sweet juice dulls the brain
IJEBU PEOPLE ARE STINGY : Ijebu is a local Government area and city located in the South-West Nigeria. I’ve always heard people
complain about “The Ijebus”, Ijebu people are stingy, they don’t spend money, they don’t give out cash.
Are they born with “Stingy” gene or there’s a particular trait that brings that up, how come na only them ?? I still can’t fathom the stinginess
thing …
Abi one needs to trace KingTom’s background cos errm
WHISTLING AT NIGHT ATTRACTS SNAKES: My grandmother
once told me that whistling at night attracts snakes and evil sprits, how
come ??…
What if am living in banana island where there ain’t no habitat for snakes, will they ( snakes) travel all the way from my village to meet me here in Lagos.
At times I get lost in my thought maybe Lekinz wasn’t my name, maybe am “Mowgli, the Jungle Boy”.
ALLOWING BIRD’S POO ON ONE’S HEAD BRINGS GOOD
LUCK/WISDOM : This do cracks me up a lot, I’ve made researches all
because of this poo$, does the $HIT contains any supernatural power or
the components that makes it up is the same thing Daniel ate in the bible
..
PUTTING A PIECE OF BROOMSTICK ON YOUR HAIR WILL
CURE/STOP HICCUPS:
This also applies to wool, there are many times in high school those days where you see students with a piece of broomstick and you wonder if
that’s a new trend or fashion.
I once asked a friend about the broomstick, all he could say was ” I hear sey e dey stop am and me self don try am, na true buh if you dey ask me to tell you how, I can’t categorically tell you cos my Oga at the top self no tell me .. That’s all”.
EVERY NORTHERNER IS EITHER A SHOEMAKER OR A
KIOSK OWNER( Northerner):
I don’t know maybe people do forget that one of the richest black man in Africa is a northerner abi ALIKO DANGOTE hails from the west part of
Nigeria.
Seeing a kiosk owner, one’s first word is “Northerner”, I know
Northerner means my friend buh here in Lagos and other part of Nigeria it is been translated as Mallam or Hausa, what if the kiosk owner is Baba
Biliki or Baba Mulikat.
ANYONE WITH “CRAZY HAIRSTYLE” IS IRRESPONSIBLE :
The word crazy above doesn’t mean the crazy from Oxford Dictionary, it was cropped out from Lekinz 2015th edition dictionary.
I can’t tell you the definition cos my Oga at the top can decide to change it in the coming edition but will give examples, people with hairstyles like Gallas, dread etc are being refer to as irresponsible folks, because I decide to barb one part and leave the other parts am irresponsible .. So if
I decide to have a cut like Papa Ajaso’s. Am termed responsible

UNILAG Lecturer Fights Woman In Public, Strips Her

I wonder the kind of morals such a lecturer will inculcate into students if he can’t control himself. How sad!
LAGOS+1

A lecturer with the University of Lagos, Mr Arthur Avwokeni Joseph, was detained at Alade Police Station in Somolu, Lagos State, after he allegedly fought a lady at petrol station and tore her clothes.
Mr. Joseph, 47, who works at the Business Administration Department of the university, went to a filling station along Fola Agoro Road, Somolu, to buy fuel when there was an altercation between him and 28-year-old Adeparusi Yetunde over who should buy the product first.
Mr. Joseph immediate alighted from his car and threatened Yetunde that if she were one of his students he would have dealt with her…
After the threat and further exchange of words between them, Joseph allegedly slapped Yetunde and she also grabbed him. In the ensuing scuffle her clothes were also torn by the man.
According to PM News, Mr. Joseph seized Yetunde’s cell phone while she also seized some of his books.
After the incident, Mr. Joseph went to Alade police station and reported the incident. When asked about the whereabouts of Yetunde, he said he did not know.
He was then asked to write a statement and while writing the statement, Yetunde’s phone that was with him rang and when the police picked the call and asked if she was the owner, she said yes and she was asked to come to Alade Police station where it was discovered that her clothes were torn.
The lecturer was detained along side Yetunde. Both were later granted bail. Two fighting!

17yr old Nigerian schooling in UK drowns in Canada while on school trip

A 17 year old Nigerian boy, Jamal Ottun, a student of Wallington County Grammar School in South London drowned while swimming with his school mates at the Shawnigan lake on Vancouver Island, Canada on Sunday July 12th. According to reports, the talented sportsman was in Canada with his school's Rugby team for a Rugby tour when the sad incident happened. He had gone swimming with his team mates when he drowned. Efforts to revive him afterwards failed. He was his father's only son. After the cut is a statement released by the school on his death...

It is with great sadness that we now confirm that during a scheduled swimming trip on Sunday 12 th July 2015 , whilst on the School rugby tour to Canada, Jamal Ottun, a n extremely popular and talented Y ear 12 student, required support from the em ergency services. Despite their response, and the con siderable efforts of the S chool’s own staff and students, Jamal could not be saved and sadly passed away at the scene.
Jamal with his family. His mum is demanding full investigation into his death...

Jamal was an exemplary Walcountian. During his time with us he developed a true love for Wallington County Grammar School and this was reciprocated by those who knew him too. He was a very generous individual, always looking for the best in people and wanting to help them achieve great things. Jamal would have continued to be a fantastic role model for others in the S chool and beyond, and would have un doubtedly become a gr eat leader as House Captain of Carew as part of the School’s House System.

Photo of Jamal with his friends some days before he drowned

Jamal was a very keen sportsman, be it on the rugby pitch, the running track or excelling in virtually any other sporting activity. The short time that he did spend on this trip was characterised by tremendous fun as demonstrated by the photographs that he had already shared with family and friends. Jamal’s family are obviously devastated by these events, and our thoughts and prayers are with them all at this time. We will continue t o work closely with the family and are ensuring that no effort is spared in supporting them.
Our thoughts are also with the staff and students who were with Jamal, and who are having to cope with this tragedy . The tour has now been curtailed and the studen ts and staff will be returning to the UK shortly. This tragic event has left a huge hole in the WCGS community, and this is keenly felt by all staff, students and others who have com e into contact with Jamal. The S chool is offering professional internal an d external support to all students and staff, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future . Our tremendous thanks go out to our hosts, Shawnigan Lake School, for the support that they have offered us, and also to the authorities in British Columb ia who are also working closely with us.
I am sure that you will want to join with us in remembering an extraordinary young man. T he S chool has created an area for remembrance at the front of School. This area will be available to access by anyone within t he WCGS community . Jonathan Wilden Headmaster Wallington County Grammar School

President Buhari charges security agencies to crack down on Nollywood movie pirates

Statement from the Presidency...

Pesident Muhammadu Buhari has directed law enforcement agencies to step up their efforts to curb the menace of pirates in Nigeria's entertainment industry so that artistes can enjoy the fruits of their labour. President Buhari gave the directive after receiving a briefing from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and her Directors Tuesday in Abuja.

“Nollywood is making progress. We should work with them. Unless they are backed, they will be ruined by pirates who want to reap where they have not sowed. "They have built an industry with their own sweat. It is therefore incumbent on us to give them the necessary support,” President Buhari said.

He charged law enforcement agencies to identify the perpetrators of copyright piracy, their sponsors and collaborators, and bring them to justice. President Buhari also charged the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to tap into the opportunities presented by their wide reach to shore up their revenue profiles. Bola Tinubu says he has not placed any demand on Pres. Buhari

National leader of APC, Bola Tinubu says contrary to popular opinion, he has not placed any demand on President Buhari since he assumed office. Tinubu said this while speaking to state house correspondents after breaking the Ramadan fast with President Buhari at the state house this evening
"I have no demands. If you understand what party politics and leadership is all about, it is about loyalty and commitment to the values which the leadership believes in. I believe in what the president believes in, I respect him and I stand firmly loyal to his cause. So you can go to any length of speculation that you might want, I have not responded to all of that because I understand the president and the president understands me clearly.” he said
He also spoke on the crisis rocking the National Assembly. He said he is backing what President Buhari has said on the matter
"That is an area where I am very cautious of my position and my utterances. I still want to keep my side of the interpretation or analysis to be able to achieve a resolution of the matter as quickly as possible. I am backing what the president has carefully enumerated and articulated to the party. The party is supreme. The party must have disciplined leadership and followers. The party’s process must be respected because that is the confidence and the trust of the people. However in every environment, we should have conflict, that is politics and conflict resolution mechanism would be applied to resolve all the problems so we are there. There is honour in every struggle and every competition, there must be honour in victory too.”he said

I poisoned my husband because I hated him - Beninoise woman

A Beninoise teenager, 17-year-old Abiodun Ojo, who killed her husband, Jimoh, in the Makoko area of Yaba, Lagos State, said she poisoned her husband because she hated him.
Abiodun, during her interview blamed her father for forcing her to marry Jimoh, who she said never took care of her.
She said she had run away from the deceased 3 times, and was sent back by her father, who she described as the architect of her problem.

Abiodun had been handed over to Jimoh as wife by her father to stop her from marrying her boyfriend.
She was said to have given birth to a baby girl, Hannah, and was living with the victim in their home on Apolo Street, Makoko.

However, she was said to have met her former boyfriend’s elder brother, Wensu, who allegedly gave her the poison to put in Jimoh’s drink so she could marry his younger brother.
It was reported that Jimoh, a carpenter, had returned home from work on June 19, 2015 when his wife poured the poison into his soft drink and forced him to drink it.
The deceased was said to have collapsed and died despite immediate efforts by residents to resuscitate him.
Abiodun, who initially denied involvement in the crime, later confessed to community leaders, saying she was given the poison by her former boyfriend’s elder brother, Wensu.
The 2 suspects were said to have been arrested by policemen from the Adekunle Police Division and were subsequently transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation.
Abiodun said she never knew the poison would kill Jimoh.
She said,
“I was born in Lagos, though I am from Cotonou, Benin Republic. My father married 2 wives and he had 9 children. My mother had 6 children for him and I am number 4. I did not go to school because my father did not allow me.
“I had a boyfriend, Papa, whom I dated for 2 years. I wanted to marry him, but my father refused because my elder sister was married to Papa’s brother.
“I was at home one day when my father brought some people and said I should look at all of them and say if I liked them, and I said yes. He then asked me to go. It was the next day that they took me to Jimoh.”
She said she was taken to a community in Ogun State, where the victim usually came to make love with her until she became pregnant.
She said when she returned to Lagos, she was not well treated by the deceased and she complained to her family members, who asked her to endure the hardship.
“On 3 different occasions, I ran away from home. But whenever I got home, my father would ask me to go back, saying marriage was always full of challenges.
“On the fateful day, I went to the market to buy fish for my sister-in-law when I saw Wensu on the road. He gave me the poison and said I should put it in my husband’s drink. I put it in his drink and he took it himself,” she added.
She said she regretted marrying the deceased because she never loved him.
It was learnt that the boyfriend, Papa, had travelled back to the Benin Republic.
His elder brother, Wensu, a herbalist, denied giving Abiodun the poison, saying she framed him up.

He said:
“I am a herbalist by profession and I was taught the job by my grandfather in the Benin Republic when I was a child. I met her sister in the community and we married legally. She had three kids for me.
“But when I married another woman, she divorced me and married somebody else. I did not give her any poison and I have never met her husband, Jimoh, in my entire life. She is lying.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said the suspects would soon be charged to court.

Awori indigenes storm Tinubu’s residence in protest

Some indigenes of Awori  have stormed the Lagos residence of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to protest the marginalisation of their people in the appointment of public officials.
The protesters said none of the Awori indigenes from their communities had been appointed into public office in the last 16 years despite their support for the Lagos State Government and Tinubu.
The group, on Sunday, urged Tinubu and the APC-led government in the state to address their complaint.

One of the leaders of the Awori, Chief Lateef Balogun, said,
“I am the Ashipa of Agboyi. We have been supporting Asiwaju Tinubu since he was elected as the Lagos State governor on the platform of the defunct Alliance for Democracy. We have always done our best to ensure that his party wins elections in the state, but what we get in return is marginalisation.
“We are here today to complain over the marginalisation of our people in all levels of government. He created the 37 Local Council Development Areas for us in 2002, but the Awori were not given any position in the government. So, we are begging Tinubu to look into the matter.
“We want Awori indigenes to be elected as chairmen of the local council development areas, not outsiders.”
Another leader of the protesters, Chief Bola Onikoro, alleged that the Awori were being cheated, despite the fact they have qualified candidates.
He said,
“We want peace. We, the Awori from Kosofe, Agboyi, Ojota and Isheri, want change. What we want now is that all the local government areas should be headed by our people. Our people are competent to provide quality leadership in any level of government.”
The youth leader for Ojota area of the state, Mr. Adebisi Balogun, said all the prominent positions in the LCDAs were given to non-indigenes hence didn't think it was fair.
A former Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Sunny Ajose, who met with the protesters, praised their peaceful conduct and assured them that their grievances would be addressed.

The Power of Inspiration - by Femi Fani-Kayode

Article written by former minister, Femi Olukayode. Read below... Dark is the heart that weeps and bleeds. Pure is the spirit that overcomes pain. Free is the soul that activates faith. Pure is the joy that true love brings. Yet most important of all is the power of inspiration. That grace and strength that encouraging words, steeped in knowledge and experience, bring. We can only heal and help those in pain when we ourselves once experienced that pain. We can only shed light in darkness when we ourselves once walked in that darkness.

We can only lift others up when we ourselves have once been down. Inspirational prose is like speaking in tongues to the unlettered- they cannot possibly understand or appreciate it. They know not it’s value and they have no use for it’s strength. Like Shakespeare once said, to them, ‘’tis caviar to the general’’.

Yet to refined souls and sensitive spirits it is everything. It is the shield that protects and preserves our hearts, thoughts and emotions- it is the very essence of our being.

To the learned and enlightened it is like the burning fire, bringing in glory and blessings and ushering in the marvellous heat of the golden sun.

It inspires, it brings laughter, it brings tears of joy. It brings hope even to the most hopeless and it ushers in a rustic and complex form of spiritual resurrection and rejuvanation. That is why it is wise and good to learn from our experiences and share it with others.

One short and encouraging note to a despairing soul may well save a life. One kind smile or a few words laced in love may well give cause for those who have lost all hope to think again and give life another chance.

One tiny expression of compassion or passion and one small gesture of kindness, support and love to even the most unlovable may change them forever.

A helping hand extended to a complete stranger may inspire that stranger to have faith in humanity and to have an encounter with God.

May those that understand the essence of these words never lose sight of this glaring veracity. May those who laugh to scorn the power of prose and the beauty of the word continue to wallow in their abject poverty of the mind and dearth of knowledge and understanding.

In all, strive to love, to care for others, to show compassion, to be merciful, to be kind, to be loving, to be forgiving and most important of all seek to inspire and bring hope to others.

An encouraging smile to the weakest and most frightened amongst us at the most unexpected moment could do it. Or perhaps an unexpected phone call to a long lost friend.

Whatever it takes give someone joy, particularly the lost, those in pain and the broken-hearted,  that our Lord in heaven, the God of mercy and truth, may know your worth. This is indeed God's work and it is a glaring expression of the power of inspiration.
