Post UTME Will Soon Be Scraped- JAMB Registrar

The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Dibu Ojerinde has predicted that Post-UTME screening exercise organized by higher institutions in Nigeria with soon stop following the introduction of the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
JAMB
Ojerinde said the reason for this is that the Computer Based mode of UTME had helped to completely eradicate examination malpractice.

Post-JAMB tests for applicants was introduced my many universities and polytechnic before they are offered admission, irrespective of whether they passed the JAMB examination, which has attracted its fair share of criticism as it was described as a means of extorting money from applicants.
He said: “If the universities are sure that the parents are not assisting their children to cheat, if the standard of examination is improved, post UTME would die naturally.
“With the computer based test fully introduced by the board, the Nigerian universities would have confidence in the performance of JAMB candidates.”
The JAMB registrar said the results of CBT examination were the true reflection of what each candidate had worked for.
In a related development, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)has called for the removal of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB)over what it considers as exploitative moves by the board.
