Amokachi Explains Why He's Harsh On Players

Former Super Eagles Coach, Daniel Amokachi has explained the reasons behind his hard handedness when he was a coach of the Super Eagles.

The 43 year old footballer turned Coach said he loose his short temper whenever a player disobey or disrespects him.


“Harsh in Nigeria means you are doing the right things and they don’t like what you are doing, No matter who you are, if you are a player and I am a Coach, players will have to respect what I put on ground and that is the way I do my stuffs” he told Journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

Amokachi was earlier accused of unfriendliness by some players during his time with the senior National team, and he confirmed it by saying he always shout on any player that go wrong in the team;

“So if you say harsh, if you do something wrong and I will bark on you. It is a normal thing because your job is to represent Nigeria first, so if there are rules and regulations first, why should you look back on it because you are a senior player that the junior player. That does not sound right if it does to you, you can tell me” he said

Daniel Amokachi won the 2013 African Cup of Nations as an assistant Coach to Stephen Keshi, and also an Assistant Coach at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
