Iheanacho Edging Closer To Making ManCity Debut

Nigerian youth international, Kelechi Iheanacho, is getting closer to making his English Premier League debut with the ‘The Citizens’.

His chance of a start for the English giants, was boosted when he made the bench of the Manchester-based club in their 3-0 drubbing of West Bromwich Albion on Monday, August 10, at the Hawthorns.

The young Nigerian talent, who did not feature during the encounter, made it to the bench in what was his first senior ‘bench’ appearance for the Etihad side, as a Yaya Toure brace and a Vincent Kompany strike won the game for Manuel Pellegrini’s away side.
Iheanacho, who was among the seven named substitutes by manager the former Real Madrid coach, had been tipped to shine for the away team following his near flawless performance during the pre-season for Manchester City.

In the five games that he played in pre-season, he scored two goals and provided two assists, and with the exit of Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko, Iheanacho had been expected to start.

According to Goal.com, the Nigerian star seems to have sealed a good partnership former Liverpool winger, Raheem Sterling, which strengthened his case for regular first team action.
